Paul, a former persecutor of Jesus' followers, received a divine calling to preach the gospel. While striving to fulfill his mission, he encountered various obstacles. Once, during his imprisonment with Silas, their praise and worship caused an earthquake that shattered their shackles and inspired the jailer to release them. On another occasion, while sailing to Rome as a prisoner, their ship was destroyed in a shipwreck. Miraculously, all the passengers survived, arriving safely onshore. While attempting to dry off and warm themselves with wet wood in the rain, a venomous snake emerged and bit Paul. Despite onlookers anticipating his demise, he shook off the snake with no adverse effect.
